Course Outline 

The Working at Heights construction course is designed to provide the basic  knowledge required to work safely in areas where there is a possible exposure to fall hazards. The course will address safe practices and procedures as specified in Regulations enabled by the Occupational Health and Safety Act in Ontario 

Part One: Basic Theory

  • Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Fall Hazard Recognition and Controls
  • Warning Methods and Physical Barriers
  • Ladders and Similar Equipment
  • Intro to Personal Fall Protection Equipment

Part Two: Practical Equipment

  • Understanding Personal Fall Protection Equipment
  • Anchor Points
  • Fall Prevention and Rescue Plans
  • Immediate First Aid for a Fallen Worker

Ontario Ministry of Labour Approved Program

There is a quiz at the end of each section and practical equipment skills that must be demonstrated.
